Welcome to The Table Review submissions portal. We're glad you're here.

We accept fiction, poetry, and nonfiction during our two reading periods. All submissions must be previously unpublished and submitted as a .doc or .docx file. We do not consider work generated using artificial intelligence.

We allow simultaneous submissions but ask that you notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

For full guidelines—including word counts, cover letter requirements, and rights—please visit our submissions page before submitting.

We read with care and respond with attention. Thank you for pulling up a chair.

We accept previously unpublished fiction of up to 8,000 words. Please submit one piece at a time as a .doc or .docx file, and no more than one submission per reading period. Please do not submit in more than one genre during the same reading period. We are looking for work that is carefully made and impossible to ignore—writing that pays attention and asks something of its reader. We do not consider work generated using artificial intelligence.

We accept previously unpublished nonfiction of up to 10,000 words. Please submit one piece at a time as a .doc or .docx file, and no more than one submission per reading period. Please do not submit in more than one genre during the same reading period. We are looking for essays and work that are honest and attentive—writing that offers something real to its reader.

We also accept pitches for interviews with writers and poets. We are interested in conversations that go beyond the work itself: interviews driven by theme, obsession, process, or idea. To pitch an interview, please submit a brief proposal of no more than 300 words outlining your subject, your angle, and why the conversation feels timely or necessary. Please also include two to three sample questions. Completed interviews should be between 2,500 and 4,000 words and must be conducted exclusively for The Table Review.

We accept previously unpublished poetry. You may submit up to four poems at a time as a single .doc or .docx file, and no more than one submission per reading period. Please do not submit in more than one genre during the same reading period. We are looking for poems that feel whole and considered—work that earns its every word. We do not consider work generated using artificial intelligence.

The Table Review welcomes letters from readers in response to work published in our pages, or to the magazine more broadly. We believe the conversation between reader and writer is part of what makes literature matter. Letters that move us, challenge us, or add something new to the work will be published on our Letters page.

Please keep your letter to 400 words or fewer. Include the title and author of the piece you are responding to, if applicable. Letters may be lightly edited for clarity.

This form is open year-round.
